INSTALLATION: Not installed on the cable or crimped. The eye is screwed into a cable terminal or other component with an internal right-hand thread of the same thread size, for example Mini-thread terminal, internal right-hand thread M8449 and Thread terminal, crimp-free DIY M8451.

RIGHT-HAND THREAD: The equivalent eye with a left-hand thread is Eye terminal with external thread | left-hand thread | A4 | M8555. If you need a fork instead of an eye, see Fork terminal with external thread | right-hand thread | A4 | M8552.

Eye terminal with external right-hand thread in A4 stainless steel, also known as an eye with thread, threaded eye, or eye with external thread, is intended for use in corrosive and marine environments. It has a flat eye with a hole at one end and an external metric thread at the other. According to WASI, it is primarily used in architectural applications such as railing systems, cable stays, and plant supports. The cable connection can be tightened or loosened using the thread length. It is suitable for installations where a long service life and consistent performance are essential.

APPLICATION

The product is used in cable railings, trellises, and green walls, cable stays, and barriers together with internal-thread terminals. For longer adjustment range, WASI recommends a turnbuckle. The eye can be connected to a shackle, carabiner, or fork terminal. Available with external right-hand threads M5, M6, M8, and M10.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

How is the eye installed?

Screw the eye's threaded stud into the terminal's internal thread. The eye and the terminal must have the same thread size and thread direction – right-hand thread. By screwing the eye in or out, the length of the cable can be fine-tuned. A nut on the threaded stud can be used as a lock nut.

Which terminals are compatible?

Cable terminals and other components with an internal right-hand thread of the same size, for example Mini-thread terminal, internal right-hand thread M8449 and Thread terminal, crimp-free DIY M8451.

Which size should I choose?

Choose the thread size based on the terminal's internal thread. Also check the hole diameter (A) and the eye thickness (E) against the bolt or shackle it will be fitted into; see the dimensional drawing.

Do I need crimping tools?

No. This part is not crimped and is not installed on the cable – it is screwed together with a cable terminal that is already installed on the cable. The cable terminal itself can be crimped or crimp-free (DIY). We only sell the components and do not perform any installation work. See all cable terminals.

Can the part be used for lifting?

No. WASI does not specify a breaking load, and the part is not intended for use as lifting equipment.

What is the difference between A2 and A4?

A4 (AISI 316) contains molybdenum and is acid-resistant, providing better resistance to salt and chlorides than A2 (AISI 304). A4 is recommended for boats and coastal environments.
