Eye terminal with external thread | left-hand thread | A4 | M8555
INSTALLATION: Not fitted onto the cable or crimped. The eye is screwed into a cable terminal or other component with an internal left-hand (LH) thread of the same size, for example the Mini-gang terminal with internal left-hand thread M8450 (6 mm cable, M8 left).
LEFT-HAND THREAD: The equivalent eye with a right-hand thread is the Eye terminal with external thread | right-hand thread | A4 | M8554 (available in M5–M10). If you need a fork instead of an eye, see the Fork terminal with external thread | left-hand thread | A4 | M8553.
Eye terminal with external left-hand (LH) thread in A4 stainless steel, also known as an eye with thread, threaded eye, or eye with external thread, is intended for use in corrosive and marine environments. It has a flat eye with a hole at one end and an external metric thread at the other. According to WASI, it is primarily used in architectural applications such as handrail systems, cable stays, and plant supports. The cable connection can be tightened or loosened using the thread length. It is suitable for installations where a long service life and consistent performance are essential.
APPLICATION
The product is used in cable handrails, pergolas and green walls, cable stays and barriers together with internal-thread terminals. For a longer adjustment range, WASI recommends a turnbuckle. The eye can be connected to a shackle, carabiner or fork terminal. Available with an M8 external left-hand (LH) thread.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
How is the eye installed?
Screw the eye's threaded stud into the terminal's internal thread. The eye and the terminal must have the same thread size and direction – left-hand thread (LH). By screwing the eye in or out, the cable length can be fine-tuned. A nut on the threaded stud can be used as a lock nut.
Which terminals are suitable?
Cable terminals and other components with an internal left-hand (LH) thread of the same size, for example the Mini-gang terminal with internal left-hand thread M8450 (6 mm cable, M8 left).
Which size should I choose?
Choose the thread size based on the terminal's internal thread. Also check the hole diameter (A) and the eye thickness (E) against the bolt or shackle it will be fitted into; see the dimensional drawing.
Do I need crimping tools?
No. This part is not crimped and is not fitted onto the cable – it is screwed together with a cable terminal that is already fitted onto the cable. The cable terminal itself can be crimped or crimp-free (DIY). We only sell the components and do not perform any installation work. See all cable terminals.
Can the part be used for lifting?
No. WASI does not specify a breaking load, and the part is not intended for use as lifting equipment.
What is the difference between A2 and A4?
A4 (AISI 316) contains molybdenum and is acid-resistant, providing better resistance to salt and chlorides than A2 (AISI 304). A4 is recommended for boats and coastal environments.
