INSTALLATION: Press-free DIY terminal – secured to the wire with locking screws in the sleeve and installed with hand tools, without a pressing tool. Suitable for 3 and 4 mm wire. Should the terminal be pressed by a rigger instead? See our pressed wire terminals, for example Mini-thread terminal pressed | internal right-hand thread | M8449.

Design: Choose right- or left-hand thread as a variant. One right-hand and one left-hand terminal are used in pairs when the wire is to be tensioned by turning a threaded rod or an intermediate piece.

Thread terminal press-free DIY with internal thread in stainless steel A4, also called screw terminal for self-installation, wire terminal with internal thread or DIY terminal, is intended for use in corrosive and marine environments. The wire is inserted into the sleeve and secured with screws, and at the other end there is an internal M6 thread. The product is used where a thin wire is to be connected to a threaded rod, a loop or fork with external thread M6 or a wire railing bracket. It is suitable for installations where a long lifespan and consistent performance are crucial.

APPLICATION AREA

The product is used in wire railings, railing infill, pergolas, green walls, barriers and suspensions where the wire is 3 or 4 mm and where the terminal can be installed on site without a pressing tool. It is intended for applications where the choice of material provides the necessary protection against corrosion and mechanical stress.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

What wire is the terminal suitable for?

Wire with a nominal diameter of 3 or 4 mm. Unlike the press-free cone terminals for 1×19 wire, this one is secured with screws, and the terminal is stated to be usable with the common constructions 1×19, 7×7 and 7×19. The hole is 4.4 mm, so a PVC-coated wire must be stripped where it enters the sleeve – it is the steel wire that is to be secured.

How is the terminal installed?

Cut the wire straight, insert it into the sleeve all the way to the stop and tighten the locking screws. Then screw the terminal onto an M6 thread with the same thread direction. Check the tightness after a period of use.

When is a left-hand thread needed?

When two terminals are used against the same threaded intermediate piece, for example a threaded rod with right- and left-hand thread, so that the wire is tensioned when the rod is turned. Otherwise, right-hand thread is sufficient.

What is the difference between a pressed and a press-free (DIY) terminal?

A pressed terminal is clamped onto the wire with a pressing tool and becomes slim and permanent. A press-free DIY terminal is mechanically secured and installed with regular hand tools. See all wire terminals.

Can you install the terminal for me?

No, we only sell the components and do not perform any installation work.

Can the terminal be used for lifting?

No. No breaking load is specified and the terminal is not intended as a lifting device.

What is the difference between A2 and A4?

A4 (AISI 316) contains molybdenum and is acid-resistant, which provides better resistance to salt and chlorides than A2 (AISI 304).
