INSTALLATION: Not installed on the wire and not crimped. The fork is screwed onto a wire terminal or threaded rod with an external right-hand thread of the same thread size, for example Crimp-on threaded terminal M8320, Mini-threaded terminal M8445, Long mini-threaded terminal M8447 and DIY non-crimp threaded terminal M8326, and secured with a lock nut.

RIGHT-HAND THREAD: If the wire is to be tensioned with a turnbuckle body, right- and left-hand threads are required in pairs. The equivalent fork with a left-hand thread is Fork terminal with internal thread | left-hand thread | A4 | M8456.

Fork terminal with internal right-hand thread in A4 stainless steel, also known as a fork with internal thread, fork head, threaded fork or jaw with internal thread, is intended for use in corrosive and marine environments. It has a fork with a bolt and locking device at one end and an internal metric thread at the other, so that a threaded terminal or threaded rod can be finished with a fork. The product is used where the wire is to be attached around an eye, a mounting eye or a wire plate. It is suitable for installations where a long service life and consistent performance are crucial.

APPLICATION

The product is used in wire railings, marine rigging, guy wires, pergolas and barriers, together with threaded wire terminals. It is intended for applications where the choice of material provides the necessary protection against corrosion and mechanical stress. Available with internal right-hand threads M5, M6, M8 and M10.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

How is the fork installed?

Screw a nut onto the external thread of the terminal, then screw the fork in as far as the thread engages fully in the threaded part of the fork (L2) and tighten the nut against the fork as a lock nut. The fork and the terminal must have the same thread size and the same thread direction – right-hand thread.

Which terminals are compatible?

All wire terminals with an external right-hand thread of the same size, for example Crimp-on threaded terminal M8320, Mini-threaded terminal M8445, Long mini-threaded terminal M8447 and DIY non-crimp threaded terminal M8326. Check the thread size of the terminal you have: M5, M6, M8 or M10.

Do I need crimping tools?

No. This part is not crimped and is not installed on the wire – it is screwed together with a wire terminal that is already installed on the wire. The wire terminal itself can be crimped or non-crimp (DIY). We only sell the components and do not perform any installation work. See all wire terminals.

Can the part be used for lifting?

No. WASI does not specify a breaking load and the part is not intended for use as a lifting device.

What is the difference between A2 and A4?

A4 (AISI 316) contains molybdenum and is acid-resistant, which provides better resistance to salt and chlorides than A2 (AISI 304). A4 is recommended for boats and coastal environments.
