Pressed loop terminal | A4 | M8317
INSTALLATION: Crimp terminal – requires crimping tools (hand crimper, hydraulic press or swaging machine) and is normally installed by a rigger or wire workshop. Cannot be installed with standard hand tools. Do you want to install it yourself on 1×19 wire? See Eye terminal press-free DIY | for 1x19 wire | A4 | M8322 or all wire terminals.
Eye terminal crimped in A4 stainless steel, also called crimp terminal with eye, swaged eye terminal or swage eye terminal, is intended for use in corrosive and marine environments. The terminal is crimped (swaged) onto the wire end and has a flat eye with a hole at the other end. The product is used where a wire needs to be attached to a fork, a fork shackle, a shackle or an eye bolt. It is suitable for professional installations where a long service life and consistent performance are crucial.
APPLICATION
The product is used in wire railings and balustrades, marine rigging, mooring lines, stays, barriers and suspensions. It is intended for applications where the wire needs to be terminated with an eye and where the material choice provides the necessary protection against corrosion and mechanical stress. Available for 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm wire.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
What is the difference between an eye terminal and a fork terminal?
The eye terminal has a flat eye that is attached to something with a fork or bolt, for example a fork shackle or a shackle. The fork terminal has a fork with a bolt and is attached around an eye or an eye bolt. See Fork terminal crimped | welded | A4 | M8316.
What is the difference between a crimped and a press-free (DIY) eye terminal?
A crimped eye terminal has a smooth sleeve that is clamped onto the wire with crimping tools. It provides a slim, permanent connection but requires tools and cannot be removed without cutting the wire. A press-free DIY terminal has a cone and thread and is installed with standard wrenches, but only fits 1×19 wire, see M8322. This product is crimped.
Can I install the terminal myself?
Only if you have access to crimping tools with crimping dies for the correct wire size. Otherwise, a rigger or wire workshop should crimp it, or you can choose a press-free DIY terminal.
Can you crimp the terminal for me?
No, we only sell the components. Contact a rigger or wire workshop, or choose a press-free DIY terminal that you install yourself.
Which size should I choose?
Choose the variant according to the nominal diameter of the wire, i.e. the steel core and not the outer diameter of a PVC-coated wire. Also check the hole diameter (D) and the eye thickness (E) against the bolt and fork it will be fitted into, see the dimension drawing.
What is the difference between A2 and A4?
A4 (AISI 316) contains molybdenum and is acid-resistant, which provides better resistance to salt and chlorides than A2 (AISI 304). A4 is recommended for boats and coastal environments.
