Pressed mini-series terminal | long external left-hand thread | A4 | M8448
INSTALLATION: Pressed terminal – requires pressing tools (hand press, hydraulic press, or rolling machine) and is normally installed by a rigger or wire workshop. Cannot be installed with standard hand tools. Want to install it yourself? See our press-free DIY terminals.
LEFT-HAND THREAD, LONG THREAD: This terminal has a long external left-hand thread and is used in pairs with a right-hand thread terminal of the same size, so that the wire is tensioned when a turnbuckle body is rotated. See Mini-gang terminal pressed | long external right-hand thread | A4 | M8447. Is a shorter thread sufficient? See M8446 with short left-hand thread.
Mini-gang terminal pressed with long external left-hand thread in A4 stainless steel, also called mini pressed terminal left with long thread, mini rolling terminal LH, or mini stud terminal LH, is intended for use in corrosive and marine environments. The terminal is pressed (rolled) onto the wire and has a long external left-hand thread at the other end, providing a longer tensioning range. The product is used where the wire is to be tensioned with a turnbuckle body together with a right-hand thread terminal. It is suitable for professional installations where a long service life and consistent performance are crucial.
APPLICATION
The product is used in wire railings and railing infills in building and interior environments, boat railings and bow rails, as well as small stays where the wire is tensioned with a turnbuckle body. It is intended for applications where the choice of material provides the necessary protection against corrosion and mechanical stress. Available for 4 mm (M6), 5 mm (M8), and 6 mm (M10) wire, all with left-hand thread.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
When do I need a left-hand thread?
When the wire is to be tensioned with a turnbuckle body. The body has a right-hand thread at one end and a left-hand thread at the other, so you need a right-hand thread terminal (M8447) and a left-hand thread terminal (M8448) of the same size. Two left-hand thread terminals do not work in the same body.
What is the difference compared to M8446 with a short thread?
M8448 has a long thread (thread length 60–80 mm, total length 90–125 mm). M8446 has a short thread (thread length 30–40 mm, total length 50–85 mm). The pressing sleeve is the same.
What is the difference between a pressed and a press-free (DIY) thread terminal?
A pressed thread terminal has a smooth sleeve that is clamped onto the wire with pressing tools. It provides a slim, permanent connection but requires tools and cannot be removed without cutting the wire. A press-free DIY terminal has a cone and is installed with standard wrenches. This product is pressed.
Can you press the terminal for me?
No, we only sell the components. Contact a rigger or wire workshop, or choose a press-free DIY terminal that you install yourself.
What is the difference between A2 and A4?
A4 (AISI 316) contains molybdenum and is acid-resistant, providing better resistance to salt and chlorides than A2 (AISI 304). A4 is recommended for boats and coastal environments.
