Slotted flat head screw in stainless steel A1 (AISI 303 / 1.4305) according to DIN 921 features an extra-large, low head with a straight slot and is intended for mechanical fastening where a large contact surface is required. The wide head distributes the load over a larger area against the fastened component.

The large screw head provides a wide contact surface and, in some applications, may reduce the need for a separate plain washer. This design is particularly useful when the load needs to be distributed over a larger area or when a smaller screw head does not provide sufficient contact area.
