Combined drill/tap HSS-E | M-thread combines drilling, countersinking, and tapping in one single tool. The tool is made of cobalt-alloyed high-speed steel (HSS-E) and is developed for drilling and producing internal metric M-threads in a single operation.

The integrated drill point drills the core hole before the countersink and tap complete the thread without changing tools. The tool has a cylindrical shank with a square drive according to DIN 10, which provides secure clamping in a tapping chuck or other suitable tool holder. The design reduces machining time and makes the tool suitable for series production, maintenance, and workshop work. The product is sold individually and is available in several thread dimensions.

AREA OF APPLICATION

The combined drill/tap is used for drilling and internal metric threading in through-holes in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass, and other common metals. It is suitable for CNC machines, pillar drills, and other machines with synchronized feed or tapping functions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a combined drill/tap?
A combined drill/tap combines a drill, countersink, and tap in one tool, allowing drilling and internal threading to be performed in a single operation.

Which materials can the tool be used in?
The tool is intended for steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass, and other common metals.

What is the advantage of HSS-E?
HSS-E is cobalt-alloyed high-speed steel with high heat resistance and wear resistance, which provides longer tool life when machining stainless and high-alloy materials.

What does a shank with a square drive according to DIN 10 mean?
The cylindrical shank with a square drive is designed for secure clamping in tapping chucks and other tool holders intended for machine taps.

Can the tool be used in blind holes?
No. The tool is primarily intended for through-holes where drilling and tapping can be performed in one continuous operation.
