Lifting eye nut WS 9582 in acid-proof stainless steel A4 (AISI 316), also known as an eye nut or ring nut, is intended for suspension, anchoring, and fastening in damp, marine, and chemically demanding environments. The product is cast and electropolished, with a shape according to DIN 582, and is used where a fixed eye with an internal metric thread is required on a screw, stud, or threaded rod. It is suitable for professional installations where long service life and consistent performance are critical.

Note: This lifting eye nut is cast and is not CE-marked as lifting gear. It is intended for suspension, anchoring, and attachment points – not for lifting. For lifting operations, please choose our forged and CE-marked lifting eye nut A4 according to DIN 582. Read more about the difference between forged and cast products.

AREAS OF APPLICATION

The product is used in boat and marine environments, docks, railings and fences, gardening and landscaping, construction, the food industry, and the chemical industry. It is intended for applications where a fixed suspension or anchoring point is required and where the choice of material provides the necessary protection against corrosion and mechanical stress, e.g., for wire, chain, tensioning devices, and barriers. The lifting eye nut is available in thread sizes M6, M8, M10, M12, M16, M20, M24, and M30.

As an equivalent with an external thread, we offer the lifting eye bolt A4 WS 9580.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Can I use lifting eye nut WS 9582 for lifting?

No. WS 9582 is cast and not CE-marked as lifting gear, and the manufacturer explicitly states that it is not approved for lifting. It is intended for suspension, anchoring, and fixed attachment points. For lifting, a forged, CE-marked lifting eye nut is required, such as our lifting eye nut A4 DIN 582 CE-marked.

What is the difference between WS 9582 and DIN 582?

WS 9582 has the same basic shape as a lifting eye nut according to DIN 582, but is cast instead of forged, has slightly different dimensions, and lacks CE marking and a specified working load. The manufacturer therefore only specifies dimensions for WS 9582. A genuine DIN 582 lifting eye nut is forged, tested, and CE-marked for use as lifting gear, with a specified working load limit (WLL) per size and pull direction.

What is the difference between a forged and a cast lifting eye nut?

A forged lifting eye nut has a denser and more homogeneous material structure than a cast one, which provides higher toughness and better resistance to impact and fatigue. Cast eye nuts are suitable for static suspension and anchoring, while forged, CE-marked lifting eye nuts are used for lifting.

How do I install the lifting eye nut correctly?

Screw the lifting eye nut down completely so that the flat collar rests tightly against the surface, and ensure that the screw or threaded rod covers the entire thread length of the nut. In the case of angled pulls, the plane of the eye should be aligned in the direction of the pull. We recommend using mounting paste to reduce the risk of galling between stainless steel threads.

What is the difference between A2 and A4?

A4 (AISI 316) contains molybdenum and has significantly better resistance to chlorides than A2 (AISI 304). A4 is known as acid-proof and is recommended for saltwater, coastal environments, pools, and chemically demanding environments, while A2 is suitable for indoor use and normal outdoor environments.
