Hole saw arbor with pilot drill
Hole saw arbor with pilot drill fits hole saws with dimensions Ø 14–30 mm.
The shank has a 9 mm hexagonal fitting and fits all standard drill drivers and drill machines. The pilot drill is made of HSS (High-Speed Steel) and measures Ø 6.35 × 80 mm. The pilot drill can be purchased separately when it becomes dull. The hole saw is screwed onto the arbor quickly and easily.
FIELD OF APPLICATION
The hole saw arbor is an accessory for BiM-Co Hole Saw in dimensions Ø 14–30 mm. Together with the hole saw, it is used for drilling in steel, stainless steel, alloyed metals, aluminum, and wood, using drill drivers and drill machines with a chuck.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Which hole saws does this arbor fit and how are they mounted?
This arbor is specially adapted for smaller hole saw dimensions from Ø 14 mm up to Ø 30 mm:
-
Direct threaded attachment: The hole saw is threaded quickly and easily directly onto the arbor’s external thread, without the need for loose drive pins or locking rings.
-
Standardized thread size: Fits most makes of bi-metal and carbide-tipped hole saws on the market within the size range of 14–30 mm.
-
Stable centering attachment: The pilot drill is securely locked in the arbor with a set screw, ensuring that the drill remains rigid during drilling.
What is the benefit of the 9 mm hexagonal fitting and HSS pilot drill?
The combination of a hexagonal shank and high-speed steel (HSS) drill bit provides maximum control and precision when drilling:
-
No slipping in the chuck: The 9 mm hexagonal shank (3/8") locks effectively into three-jaw chucks on standard drill drivers and drilling machines. This eliminates the risk of the shank slipping under high load.
-
Quality HSS drill: The pilot drill (Ø 6.35 × 80 mm) made of high-performance high-speed steel cuts quickly through wood, plastic, plasterboard, aluminum, and thinner sheet metal.
-
Replaceable drill bit: When the pilot drill becomes dull, you do not need to buy a whole new arbor. The drill bit can be easily loosened via the set screw and replaced with a new standard Ø 6.35 mm pilot drill.
How should the arbor be used correctly to extend the life of the drill bit and the hole saw?
-
Drill the center hole first: Let the pilot drill work its way through the material at a steady pace before the hole saw's teeth reach the surface.
-
Adjust the RPM: Use lower speeds when drilling in metal and steel, and preferably use cutting oil or cutting paste to cool the HSS drill and prevent the cutting edge from overheating.
-
Positioning the set screw: When replacing the pilot drill, ensure that the arbor's set screw is tightened firmly against the flat surface of the drill shank so that it does not slide backward under pressure.
