INSTALLATION: Crimp terminal – requires crimping tools (hand crimper, hydraulic press or swaging machine) and is normally installed by a rigger or wire workshop. Cannot be installed with standard hand tools. Want to install it yourself? See our crimp-free DIY terminals.

LEFT-HAND THREAD: This terminal has a left-hand thread and is used in pairs with a right-hand thread terminal of the same size, so that the wire is tensioned when a turnbuckle body with right- and left-hand threads is turned. See Crimp thread terminal | right-hand thread with nut | A4 | M8320.

Crimp thread terminal with left-hand thread and nut in A4 stainless steel, also called swaged left-hand thread terminal, crimp terminal with left-hand thread or stud terminal LH, is intended for use in corrosive and marine environments. The terminal is crimped (swaged) onto the wire and has an external left-hand thread with a nut at the other end. The product is used where a wire needs to be tensioned with a turnbuckle body together with a right-hand thread terminal. It is suitable for professional installations where a long service life and consistent performance are crucial.

APPLICATION AREA

The product is used in marine rigging, bow and stern rails on boats, wire railings and balustrades in building and garden environments, stays and barriers where the wire is tensioned with a turnbuckle body. It is intended for applications where the choice of material provides the necessary protection against corrosion and mechanical stress. Available for 2–10 mm wire with M4–M16 left-hand threads.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

When do I need a left-hand thread?

When the wire is to be tensioned with an open or closed turnbuckle body. The body has a right-hand thread at one end and a left-hand thread at the other, so you need a right-hand thread terminal (M8320) and a left-hand thread terminal (M8620) of the same size. Two left-hand thread terminals do not work in the same body.

What is the difference between a crimped and a crimp-free (DIY) thread terminal?

A crimped thread terminal has a smooth sleeve that is clamped onto the wire with crimping tools. It provides a slim, permanent connection but requires tools and cannot be removed without cutting the wire. A crimp-free DIY terminal has a cone and is installed with standard wrenches. This product is crimped.

Can you crimp the terminal for me?

No, we only sell the components. Contact a rigger or wire workshop, or choose a crimp-free DIY terminal that you install yourself.

Which wire dimension fits which thread?

2 mm wire fits M4, 3 mm M6, 4 mm M6 or M8, 5 mm M8 or M10, 6 mm M10 or M12, 8 mm M12 or M16 and 10 mm M16. Choose the same size as the right-hand thread terminal and according to the wire's steel core, not the outer diameter of the PVC-coated wire.

What is the difference between A2 and A4?

A4 (AISI 316) contains molybdenum and is acid-resistant, which provides better resistance to salt and chlorides than A2 (AISI 304). A4 is recommended for boats and coastal environments.
