Threaded rod 1m | A2 | DIN 976
Do you need a threaded rod that provides strong and secure fastening even in damp or outdoor environments? The DIN 976 A2 threaded rod in A2 / AISI 304 stainless steel offers excellent corrosion protection and high strength. It is easy to cut to the desired length and is suitable for everything from construction and assembly to repair and manufacturing. Thanks to its stainless material, it maintains its strength and finish even during prolonged exposure to moisture or fluctuating temperatures.
FIELD OF APPLICATION
Perfect for construction, machine assembly, installations, furniture production, and outdoor structures. The threaded rod is used together with nuts and washers to create strong, adjustable, and vibration-proof joints. Easy to assemble, customize, and reuse – a reliable solution for both professional and industrial applications.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
What does the DIN 976 standard for threaded rods mean and how does it differ from DIN 975?
DIN 976 is the current international standard for fully threaded rods and studs:
-
Replacement standard: DIN 976 has largely replaced the older DIN 975 standard. It defines precise tolerances for thread profile, straightness, chamfered ends, and length tolerances.
-
Metric thread: Supplied with a standard metric thread (M-thread) that fits all standard nuts, coupling nuts, and washers according to ISO/DIN standards.
-
Versatile cutting: A fully threaded rod ($1\text{ meter}$ or $2\text{ meters}$) acts as a flexible raw material that can easily be cut to custom lengths for studs, through-fasteners, or hangers.
Why is stainless steel A2 (AISI 304) suitable for outdoor threaded rods?
Stainless A2 steel (1.4301 / AISI 304) provides long-lasting and reliable corrosion protection for the vast majority of construction and assembly environments:
-
Weather and moisture resistant: Withstands rain, snow, damp, and temperature fluctuations without forming brown surface rust or losing its load-bearing capacity.
-
No surface layer that can be damaged by cutting: Unlike electro-galvanized or hot-dip galvanized threaded rods, the A2 rod has corrosion protection throughout the entire material. When you cut the rod, no surfaces are exposed that could start to rust.
-
Versatile applications: Ideal for rafters, wooden structures, HVAC hangers, cable ladders, post fastenings, and general assembly joints outdoors and in damp indoor environments.
How do you cut and assemble an A2 threaded rod without damaging the thread?
To ensure smooth assembly of nuts after cutting, the following procedure is recommended:
-
Thread on a nut before cutting: Screw on an A2 nut below the cutting point before you cut. When you have cut the rod and unscrew the nut again, it automatically cleans and straightens the first few thread turns at the cut.
-
Corrective deburring: Use an angle grinder with a thin cutting disc for stainless steel (or a hacksaw) and lightly chamfer/deburr the cut edge with a file or deburring tool.
-
Use the right lubricant: When assembling a stainless nut (e.g., DIN 934 A2) on a stainless threaded rod, the joint should be tightened with even torque. Use a drop of assembly paste to completely eliminate the risk of the threads seizing (galling).
