Pressed dome head terminal | A4 | M8558
INSTALLATION: Crimp terminal – requires crimping tools (hand crimper, hydraulic press or rolling machine) and is normally installed by a rigger or wire workshop. Cannot be installed with standard hand tools. Want to install it yourself? See our press-free DIY terminals.
Domehead terminal crimped in A4 stainless steel, also called a dome head terminal, cable end terminal or dome head terminal, is intended for use in corrosive and marine environments. The terminal is crimped (rolled) onto the cable end and has a low, domed head. The cable is threaded through a hole in a post or fitting, and the head rests against the surface as a discreet end fitting. The product is used where the cable needs to be anchored with a clean and understated appearance. It is suitable for professional installations where long service life and consistent performance are crucial.
APPLICATION
The product is used in cable railings and balustrades in architecture and interior design, stair railings, balconies, facades and balustrades. It is intended for applications where the cable needs to be terminated against a post or fitting and where the choice of material provides the necessary protection against corrosion and mechanical stress. Available for 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm cable.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
How large a hole is needed in the post?
The hole should be larger than the sleeve diameter (D1) but smaller than the head diameter (D3). Example: for 4 mm cable, D1 is 6.5 mm and D3 is 11 mm, so a hole of approx. 7 mm works. See the dimensional drawing for other sizes.
How is the cable tensioned with a domehead terminal?
The domehead terminal is a fixed end fitting. The cable is tensioned at the other end, for example with a threaded terminal and nut or a turnbuckle.
What is the difference between a crimped and a press-free (DIY) terminal?
A crimped terminal has a smooth sleeve that is clamped onto the cable with crimping tools. It provides a slim, permanent connection but requires tools and cannot be removed without cutting the cable. A press-free DIY terminal has a cone and is installed with standard wrenches. This product is crimped.
Can you crimp the terminal for me?
No, we only sell the components. Contact a rigger or wire workshop, or choose a press-free DIY terminal that you install yourself.
What is the difference between A2 and A4?
A4 (AISI 316) contains molybdenum and is acid-resistant, which provides better resistance to salt and chlorides than A2 (AISI 304). A4 is recommended for boats and coastal environments.
